COUNTRY BED & BREAKFAST (click here to view my eBay auctions)

I had recently offered this painting on eBay but an unauthorized hacker became involved in the bidding and the auction had to be terminated. I plan to post it on eBay again soon, but if you are interested in purchasing this painting please email me in advance and we can deal directly.

This setting has wonderful memories. During a recent painting trip I spent a very restful night at this charming bed and breakfast. I awoke to the welcome sounds of birds in the treetops outside old lace curtains that glowed with morning sunlight.

The smell of a hearty breakfast greeted me as I yawned my way down a flight of creaky stairs. And later, with a final cup of coffee in hand I dashed back up to paint this cozy picture while the light remained.

"GRACEFUL EUCALYPTUS" (click here to bid)

I conduct Plein Air workshops on most Saturday mornings at various locations around Orange County, which are regularly attended by my loyal students and followers. This was one of the demonstration studies I did for a recent class.

I was showing the class how to capture the graceful shapes of these towering eucalyptus trees and the wonderful variety of colors we witnessed. And I was also teaching them about the use of bold brushwork to help convey emotion and create interesting surface texture on the canvas. If you click and go to the eBay auction page you’ll be able to better see detail photos that show the surface texture. Thanks for looking and have a colorful day!

"ANTIQUE TEACUPS " (click here to bid)

A beautiful painting can be created from commonplace things if you can see the magic in them. These antique teacups were handed down to my wife by her mother many years ago. This painting would look great in a New York apartment or California mansion. It is perfect for any decor from traditional to modern to country, or even sleek corporate offices. Thanks for looking and good luck if you decide to bid.

“AUTUMN COLORS” (click here to bid)

The rich aroma of autumn in the air brought back childhood memories of crunching through dry leaves and making footprints in oozy mud left by recent rains - things little boys do.

I hope this painting brings back fond memories for you as well. Thanks for looking.

"PEACE IN THE VALLEY" (click here to bid on this painting)

On a recent painting trip I spotted this beautiful setting and felt inspired to capture it on canvas. A sense of peace and serenity came over me as I worked, suggesting the title for this painting. I hope it brings you the same comforting feelings.

In my paintings I try to communicate my emotional response to a subject and bring out the beauty I see. I use lively color and bold, energetic strokes to keep my work fresh and spontaneous so the emotion comes through. If you can sense this in my work and it adds beauty and joy to YOUR life, then I have succeeded.

Tom Brown’s OIL PAINTING ART LESSON #6 on a CD (click here to buy)

JOIN ME FOR THE FUN OF OIL PAINTING! In this Art Workshop on a CD I show you EVERYTHING to do, step by step. I even give you a line drawing to trace onto your canvas for an easy start. It’s like attending my live workshop in your own home.

Here’s the story of why I decided to publish these Art Lessons.

Every time I teach a workshop my students are amazed at how simple and easy it is to paint in oils if you have the right guidance. In fact, so many of them wanted to take home my list of tips and techniques in a permanent form that I finally decided to publish them. I openly share everything I know in these lessons. My CD books were an immediate hit with art students, and the list has now grown to 6 volumes.

Each year hundreds of students attend my live workshops. Often the workshops are sold out well in advance and many people are unable to get in. This is the solution. It‘s like having me in the studio with you, guiding you every step of the way. I show you how to mix every color and when to take each stroke. And you can paint at your own pace whenever it’s convenient. You’ll love it.

As a SPECIAL BONUS I’m including an exciting gallery of additional paintings to inspire you to create more of your own masterpieces using the skills you developed during this lesson. Give yourself or a friend the gift of art. Happy Painting! - Tom Brown

“NEW COLLECTORS” (click here to bid on this painting)

The opening-night reception for a gallery show is always a thrill for an artist. Especially when red dots begin appearing, indicating that pieces are sold. I’ll never forget the joy of watching more than 60 red dots appear at my very first one-man show in Chicago many years ago.

I had a complete sell-out on that opening night and I’ve enjoyed many other successful gallery shows since then. This is another in a series of paintings based on that theme, which I am offering on eBay. I hope you’ll enjoy browsing among my paintings here just as you would in your favorite gallery. Care for a complimentary glass of champagne?

ROCK & ROLL (click here to bid on this piece)

This is one of many colorful boats that caught my eye at Balboa Island during the weekly Plein Air workshops I teach. I have painted this particular boat before and find the colorful tarps left in the boat to be very eye-catching.

In my paintings I try to communicate my emotional response to a subject and bring out the beauty I see. I use lively color and bold, energetic strokes to keep my work fresh and spontaneous so the emotion comes through. If you can feel this in my work and it adds beauty and joy to YOUR life, then I have succeeded. Thanks for looking.

CALIFORNIA AUTUMN" (click here to bid)

To find the joy in each day we need to pay attention to the beauty around us, especially in unexpected places. When we fully trust our instincts and tune in to the subtle messages our senses are receiving, then we find the special beauty that makes each day worthwhile. It makes our hearts skip a beat, or perhaps moves us to tears.

The rich aroma of Autumn leaves always brings back childhood memories to me. Fond memories of crunching through dry leaves and making footprints in oozy mud left by recent rains - things little boys do.

I hope this painting brings back fond memories for you as well. Please keep an eye on my other auctions, tool. If you like my work please tell your friends about me. And good luck if you decide to bid.

NEWPORT BEACH PAVILION (click here to bid on this painting)

Some days everything goes right! We arrived early and set up our easels at the water’s edge for the weekly Saturday morning Plein Air Workshop I teach. Across the channel was this view of our subject - the famous landmark Pavilion on Balboa peninsula.

The light was good, the sky had just enough weather to make it interesting, and as we worked we were entertained by an endless parade of dog-walkers, joggers and onlookers behind us. I hope you like this piece. Oh, and please tell your friends about my site. Thanks.

THE START OF ANOTHER GOOD DAY (click here to bid on this painting)

This is the kind of bed you want to wake up in on a frosty country morning. A creaky screen door quietly slapping shut had awakened me, followed by complete stillness. I suddenly realized I had to move fast if I wanted to catch the sunrise on canvas.

The day was in full swing by the time the painting was completed, and I returned for a robust breakfast in this charming old farmhouse that smelled of country hospitality and home cooking. It was the start of a very good day. This is another in a series of bedrooms where I’ve stayed while on painting trips. Let me know if you like this one. And remember to tell your friends about me. Thanks. -

EDGAR PAYNE PLEIN AIR LOCATION (click here to bid on this painting)

This painting shows the High Sierra mountains near Payne’s Lake - named after Edgar Payne, an early American Impressionist who popularized this area in his plein air paintings.

This piece is a timeless jewel with refreshing spontaneity and plenty of impact and energy. It’s loaded with strokes of thick, juicy oil paint that create an almost sculptural feeling to the canvas.

CHOCOLATE DIPPED STRAWBERRIES (click here to bid on this painting)

This piece was as yummy to paint as the strawberries were to eat! I used thick, juicy brushstrokes and loads of paint. It practically jumps off the wall with luscious color and beautiful tones. Can’t you just TASTE the rich chocolate?

If you like my work please tell your friends about me. And if you’re an artist, I welcome you to join me for one of the Painting Workshops I conduct in Orange County, California. I teach studio classes as well as Plein Air workshops (painting outdoors on-site, directly from nature).

My workshops are for artists of all levels of skill and I spend lots of one-on-one time with each person. I’ll show you loads of inside tips, tricks and techniques you can use right away, whether you’re a first-time beginner or an experienced professional. Feel free to contact me for details.

EVERY CLOUD HAS A GOLDEN LINING (Click here to bid on eBay)

This is a recent plein air painting I created in Southern California. As I painting this, raging wildfires and shifting winds filled the sky with smoke. Sunlight filtered through a golden veil, transforming the colors in this scene into this extraordinary display of color. Please take a look at this and other paintings I am now showing on eBay.
