"Top of the World" in Laguna Beach by TOM BROWN

This is a view from the "Top of the World" in Laguna Beach, California. It's an original oil painting on a 4x6 Bristol panel. In this one I wanted to capture the feeling of the moment. Sometimes a few strokes are enough if they're exactly the right color and value and placed with confidence. I have taught plein air workshops for groups of other artists at this scenic vista and it's always a treat to return. It looks different each time, depending on the time of day and lighting.
