This beautiful jewel of a landscape has loads of thick, juicy strokes of oil paint creating a rich surface texture on the painting. This painting shows the Back Bay Wildlife Preserve in Newport Beach, California. It was painted on location as I taught a plein air painting workshop at this peaceful and scenic location.
