This beautiful little hummingbird hovered mere inches from me as I sat on the patio enjoying my morning coffee. She remained quite a while, feeding from the flowers.

I was making notes to do that day, and did a quick sketch of this on my notepad while I had the chance. Later that morning I did this painting from that sketch.

I believe I later sent the sketch to a friend in Northern California.
