MORE PAINTING TIPS from TOM BROWN

MORE PAINTING TIPS from TOM BROWN

Yesterday I shared information about my pocket-sized oil painting kit, and I’ve been swamped with emails wanting to see more of the paintings I’ve created with it. Here’s another painting I did using this kit. It’s great fun painting this way when I only have a little time.

Many of you also wanted to know more about the wet-painting carrier I use with it too. As soon as I can I’ll shoot some photos of the wet-painting carrier and post them here; keep an eye on this blog.

If you missed yesterday’s post, the paint box I’m speaking of is a miniature oil painting kit that literally fits in my pocket. It measures about 3x4 inches when closed and it has an airtight seal so that oil paints inside stay wet for weeks. The wet-painting carrier also fits in my pocket.

This kit is an especially great idea for vacation trips or whenever you’re on the go and don’t have much time to record a scene.

In my upcoming Plein Air Workshop that begins in July I’ll be sharing many things like this, along with loads of other ideas, tips and techniques I’ve picked up during a lifetime as an artist.

But not everyone can attend my live workshops so I’ve decided to share some of these things here on my blog.

I hope you give this idea a try, and I wish you HAPPY PAINTING!
