BACK BAY IN NEWPORT BEACH, MINIATURE PLEIN AIR STUDY by TOM BROWN

This morning I am teaching a Plein Air Workshop at this location for other artists.

While scouting this location in advance I was struck by the lighting and color. I did this quick 4x8-inch study to capture my impression of the scene while the light held.

I happened to have a camera with me and was able to photgraph the various stages of the painting as it progressed. I thought you might find it interesting to see how this painting evolved.
