PLEIN AIR WORKSHOP THIS WEEK with TOM BROWN
Sometimes I paint quite “realistically” and other times I like to kick things up a notch and let the color sing! Really bring out the sparkle in a scene. That’s what I did here. Just for fun I’m showing a photo of the scene to compare that with my painting of it.
If you’d like to try your hand at plein air painting, come join me this Saturday. I’m teaching an outdoor class on Saturday of this week (the 20th). We will meet from 9am to noon, and the class fee is $20. We’ll meet at a public park in Irvine, California.
The location has fantastic views of mountains, hills, trees and more. Very inspiring! Parking is free and there are convenient clean restrooms.
No experience is necessary, even if you’re a first-time outdoor painter. I’ll give all the personal help you want. Just ask.
I’ll demonstrate a variety of approaches to painting the vistas we see there using methods that work well for me. And everyone is free to use whatever methods work best for them. I’ll be demonstrating in oils, but all media are welcome.
BONUS: I'll also give away several of the paintings I do that morning. You might take one home absolutely free. If you can make it let me know and I'll send full details and directions.
Hope to see you there.
