WORKSHOP NOTES by TOM BROWN

In my workshop last evening we practiced how to paint figures that are a part of an urban scene, interior or landscape. Figures like that don’t need the refined anatomy of a painting where the figure is the primary focus. They can be greatly simplified.

The image here is a page from the follow-up notes I sent to students in my workshop. I send notes like this to my students to help enrich their experience and to hopefully lock in some of the things I teach.

I thought it would be interesting to show this single page from my notes to my students.
