Here’s an example of how I work in my sketchbook. I did a very loose pencil
sketch of this scene, then blocked in the major shapes with almost no detail. I
kept it very simple. I just wanted to get down my impression of how it could
look with a bit more color. In this case, greens were an important part of the
subject, so I focused on mixing an array of different greens that would work
well together. From there it practically painted itself. In fact this is one of
