I painted this during a plein air workshop I taught in happier times, before the pandemic. This is a view of the Woodbridge South Lake in Irvine, just before sunset. The goal was to capture the brilliant, saturated colors of this moment as golden sunlight washed across the landscape. In the studio recently I added a few touch-ups from memory.
