LAGUNA BEACH PLEIN AIR LANDSCAPE by TOM BROWN

Monday I painted with a group of friends near this same spot and it was a brilliant sunny day. Today I returned alone to do some additional work and it was very overcast. But I liked the soft, calm feeling that gave to the scene, and keyed my painting to it.

I shot a couple of photos as I worked, for later comparison with my painting. Unfortunately the camera isn't able to record the subtle color nuances that oil paints can capture. If you check my blog for yesterday’s post you’ll see what a difference the weather can make. Plein Air painting is always an adventure!

Thanks for looking.
