These California Live Oaks flank a rugged trail leading into a beautiful canyon not far from my home in Southern California. I painted this on a 5x7-inch Masonite panel using oil paints and a palette knife. I love the texture and boldness of strokes made with a knife and I felt that was the best way to capture the essence of this particular scene. I was very pleased with this one. Hope you like it too.
