RED TAIL HAWK, OAKS, CALIFORNIA IMPRESSIONIST LANDSCAPE by TOM BROWN
If you look closely you will see a hawk circling in the sky above the oak trees, right in the center of this painting. He was riding the thermals and hunting as I painted this and I decided to add him to the painting. I love watching these majestic birds, and I often see them circling over fields as I paint on location.
The other day while I was in the studio one of them visited my yard and paused to rest just outside my studio window. I quickly shot a photo of him before he flew off, and later that day I did a painting from that photo.
I’ll post that painting on my blog soon or you can click HERE to see it now. Enjoy!
