WORKSHOP DEMO by TOM BROWN

This 11x14-inch canvas is the main demo painting I did last evening for a workshop I’m teaching. For this session we copied a painting by Edgar Payne, one of the early California Impressionists. Payne was a true master, and copying one of his works offered workshop participants a wonderful opportunity to observe and practice a number of Payne’s compositional concepts.
