GRITTY URBAN LANDSCAPE by TOM BROWN

“HAPPY HOUR”
8x10
oil on board
$100,
Available here
I often tell my students, “Don’t paint things … paint your IDEA.” That’s what I did here. I wanted to show the bold, gritty drama of the moment. I could have added a million fussy details, but they would have simply gotten in the way of what I wanted to communicate. The title further supports the story. This painting could have easily been titled “Rush Hour” … but I felt “Happy Hour” said it best!  I hope you agree. Thanks for stopping to look, and I wish you a Happy Day!
