NIGHT LANDSCAPE by TOM BROWN
5x7 oil on board
$100, Available here
Some subjects are very fleeting and disappear in moments. This is one of them.
I knew I could never paint fast enough to capture what caught my eye here, so I quickly shot a reference photo to record this incredible fading light in the sky.
Then I immediately mixed color swatches on my palette to more accurately capture the fading light, knowing that the photo couldn’t possibly capture what the eye can see.
The very next morning I used the photo and those color swatches to paint this while everything was still fresh in my mind.
I hope you like it, and thanks for looking.
