EARLY MORNING FOG by TOM BROWN
I’ve always found it easier to be bold & take chances when I work on a surface that isn’t “precious.” Doing studies with oils on paper or cardboard is ideal, because if I have a failure I feel no remorse about trashing it. This early morning fog study is a good example. It’s far from perfect, but it was great fun to just grab a brush and go with the flow. And for me, that’s what painting is all about: having fun. Enjoying the beauty of the world around me and sketching or playing with my paints. (This piece is 6x7 inches, oils/cardboard.)
