TREE STUDY by TOM BROWN

 I love to sketch and paint whatever catches my eye, and often use oil paints in my sketchbook when doing this. This is one of my sketches, a quick study of a tree that I found interesting because of the colors and lighting. This was not an attempt to create a finished composition; it's simply a study to capture the look of the tree and some of the surrounding colors in the sky. For this study I used oils on a sheet of Multi-Media paper from my sketchbook. Most of it was done with a palette knife, and I used a small brush for the final touches of some limbs and branches.
