I painted this at a wonderful location a couple of artist friends (Kim and Dori) told me about. This view is at the edge of a park near a freeway. I liked the geometric man-made forms of the freeway in contrast to the organic shapes of the trees. And I especially liked the light filtering through the trees.
I’m including photo I shot while painting there so you can compare it to my interpretation of the scene.
Next Saturday I will conduct a Plein Air Workshop at this location, which is open to anybody who cares to join me. Email me for details if you’re interested tombrownart@gmail.com

Thank you for posting a photo of the scene in addition to your painting. I find it so interesting to see the actual location and how you respond to it - I learn a great deal from the comparison.
The photo was especially interesting since there was a lot of detail for you to distill out.
