I painted this charming house at Balboa Island in Newport Beach, looking across the channel.

I get frequent emails from artists who enjoy seeing how I sometimes alter a scene to create a more compelling painting. And for those artists I’m including a photo I shot as I painted this one. I think it can be interesting to compare what the camera records with an artist’s interpretation of the subject. Enjoy!
