This peaceful lake is one of my favorite spots to paint. I’ve returned many times and it changes each time. The lighting can be different, skies may be clear or overcast; it looks different during different times of the day. Seasons change the appearance of course, and other things influence it too.

But it is always a pleasure to paint. I always come away very relaxed and refreshed. If you feel some of that same sense of escape from the pressures of life while looking at this painting, then I’ve succeeded.
