5x7 inch California impressionist
plein air oil painting by Tom Brown
Pure emotion was the subject of this painting. It was a very brief moment of dazzling color at sunset. Time prohibits dawdling at times like this – there isn’t a moment to lose. Like many things in life, these effects last for a heartbeat and suddenly they are gone forever, never to be repeated exactly the same.
This was painted from the heart. Each brush stroke was placed instinctively, without conscious filtering or over-thinking it. Bam! Get it down and keep moving, quickly! You can see this in the detail photo.
Sometimes a subject permits a studied approach with more details and finesse. Other times, like this, there is time to record only my emotional reaction to the scene. It is a bit of my heart and soul recorded in paint.
Sharing these visual treats with others is my goal. For a while I can still offer these little treasures at very affordable prices until I resume gallery affiliations late next year.
If this little jewel speaks to you grab it while you can! Email me for purchasing details: firstname.lastname@example.org
