The common, ordinary everyday things often make wonderful subjects for paintings. I think we often overlook the simple things in life. If we only take the time to look, beauty is all around us.

That was the case here. I was struck by the "grayness" of this entire scene. And that's the feeling I wanted to capture on this canvas. It has a soft, restful feeling.

Ordinary things we take for granted can actually be extra-ordinary when viewed in the right context. I was quite pleased with this one and hope you enjoy it too.
