EGG SHELL, FARM FRESH EGG by TOM BROWN

$30 – Click HERE for this original oil painting.
Sometimes common everyday things like this catch my eye and I just can’t resist capturing it in a painting. By the way this was a very tasty farm fresh egg, and when I had finished eating I did this painting of the shell. I think a painting like this makes a delightful statement on a kitchen wall, don’t you? You might want to place a bid before this one gets away; egg shells are fragile.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a delicious day.

TREES, SKY, RELAXING PLEIN AIR LANDSCAPE by TOM BROWN

$30CLICK HERE for this original oil painting.
As I was painting this scene I was reminded of the old song entitled “DON’T FENCE ME IN.” That gave me the title for this painting, which has a weathered hand-made fence in the foreground. I thought it was an interesting part of the scene, since the fence no longer had any functioning purpose. I particularly like finding scenes that seem to provide a momentary escape from the hectic pace of everyday life, and this peaceful setting is a perfect example. I was quite pleased with how this one came out and I hope you enjoy it too.

HERONS, WETLAND NATURE PRESERVE by TOM BROWN

$30CLICK HERE for this original Plein Air oil painting.
This wetland Nature preserve is another of my favorite spots to paint, and while I was there I shot a couple of photos that are interesting to compare with my painting.
In one of the photos you see a white heron at the water’s edge. These are magnificent birds and they often stand as still as a statue for prolonged periods of time. I am guessing they’re waiting for just the right snack to come along. But the neat part for an artist like me is that they make great models because they don’t move. This makes it easier to put them into a painting.
I hope this peaceful scene brings you a sense of relaxation and a brief respite from the hustle and bustle of daily life. If so, then I’ve accomplished my goal.

HOME, TREES, SUNLIGHT and SHADOWS by TOM BROWN

$30CLICK HERE for this original Plein Air oil painting.
The eye-catching contrast of golden sunlight and cool shadows drew me to this one, and I couldn’t resist capturing that effect in this colorful oil painting. I liked the way the warm sunlight washed across the scene, creating a golden glow on the house at the side of the road. The warmth of the light was further accentuated by the cool shadows and the overall effect was quite beautiful. I was pleased with how this painting turned out, and I hope you like it too.

PLEIN AIR LANDSCAPE with an AMUSING TITLE by TOM BROWN

$30CLICK HERE for this original Plein Air oil painting.
This tree seems to be doing its best to move uphill, and that suggested the title for this piece, “UPWARDLY MOBILE.” I particularly like finding scenes to paint that offer a momentary escape from the stress of everyday life. And this peaceful setting is a perfect example. I enjoyed painting it and I was quite pleased with how it turned out. I hope it brings you the same sense of peace and restfulness that I experienced when creating this piece. If so, then I’ve accomplished my goal.
