I hope you like this one. It was my final demo from a workshop that ended this week. We had a terrific group of artists and I thoroughly enjoyed working with each and every one of them.
As usual it was a very mixed group, from total newbies to quite advanced artists. We even had another art teacher in the group.
I love teaching these workshops, because we always seem to have great camaraderie among all the artists. It’s a very friendly and supportive group, with everyone always willing to pass along helpful tips to other artists, especially to the first-time artists.
Now I have a week off before beginning my final 8-week workshop of the year.
After that I like to take off the final two months of the year. Except for spur-of-the-moment plein air “pop up” classes I fit in whenever my schedule allows. If you’re ever interested in joining us for one of those keep an eye on my FB page or blog. I’ll always announce full details there.
The way these “pop up” classes work is that we meet on a Saturday from 9am to noon (or longer if we’re having too much fun). It’s $20 per person payable upon arrival, so there’s no prior commitment in case something prevents you from attending at the last minute. I always try to choose locations that are easy to get to, with lots of paintable subject material, easy access, shade trees when possible, and available restrooms.
I always have a terrific time during those “pop up” classes, and I have lots of new things to share with everyone who can make it. So I’m hoping to find some free time during my two month vacation.
     Thanks for looking.

“A PERSONAL VIEW” by TOM BROWN

“A PERSONAL VIEW”

I’m not afraid to talk back to Mother Nature. I let Nature inspire me, but I want to paint my personal reaction to a subject. Sometimes that means rearranging elements. Or emphasizing and minimizing things. I do whatever it takes to bring out the beauty I see in order to create a painting that stands on its own. That’s how this little beauty came about. I hope you like it, and thanks for looking. tombrownstudio@gmail.com
