This was my demonstration painting during the plein air workshop I conducted for a group of other artists this morning at the ocean. My goal here was to capture the scene with clean, bold color that would sparkle like a jewel.
Nature cooperated by giving us a perfect day complete with fresh ocean breezes, warm sunshine and gulls circling overhead. It was a beautiful morning.
One of the artists in our group has a marvelous little painting in a nearby gallery and after the workshop we all strolled over for a special viewing. Artwork for the show had to be juried in, with stiff competition.
We're very proud of our personal friend Irena for acceptance of her contribution. Irena's painting is a wonderful piece and well deserving of a place of honor in the show. Congratulations, Irena! Well done.
