Apparently too much coffee doesn’t keep some people awake. I happened to have my paint box in the car, and when this girl fell asleep at a an outdoor coffee shop I took the opportunity to capture the moment in paint. I’ve done this before, and my wife captured THAT moment in a video clip. You can see it on YouTube HERE.  So stay alert. You never know when someone might paint you!

I love creating dramatic paintings like this. This painting borders on being a pure abstract, but in fact it is actually based on a realistic subject: a flight of birds crossing the sky where the sun is setting.

This painting is about the paint itself, as much as the apparent subject. In fact you may need to know the subject before you recognize it. But the painting still makes a dynamic and powerful abstract in its own right.
