This morning I conducted a Plein Air Oil Painting workshop at the Back Bay Wildlife Preserve in Newport Beach. After the workshop I stayed on location to paint “just one more” for my own pleasure. Here it is. I hope you like it.

This beautiful jewel of a landscape will bring a breath of fresh air and sunshine into any room of your home or office. It has lots of thick, juicy strokes of oil paint on the canvas that add to the visual quality. Click on the picture to see a larger image.

I have been painting field laborers as they harvest crops on local farmland, and felt this worker made a worthy subject for a painting as he worked in the sweltering sun. Hope you like it.

Office buildings shimmer in the final rays of golden sunlight with picturesque mountains in the background. This scene is in Irvine, California near the 405 Freeway and John Wayne Airport.

This painting was done on location (en plein air) as rush hour was under way. It’s a bit of a change from my usual scenes of pristine landscapes. I felt drawn to these monolithic office structures and the myriad buildings in the distance sparkling in the setting sun, and felt they made a worthy subject for a painting. Hope you like it too.
