SKY & CLOUDS PLEIN AIR by TOM BROWN

"HEAVY WEATHER BREWING"
6x8 inch original plein air
oil painting by Tom Brown

Email for purchasing details: tombrownstudio@cox.net
SOLD

As much as I enjoy creating large commissioned paintings in the studio, I still treasure the time spent on location where I create little jewels like this directly from nature. I generally paint small on location so that I can capture the essence of the scene quickly, before conditions change.

This painting is an example of times when one must paint without hesitation. The clouds were moving fast and the light would fade quickly as well. I needed to move with a sure brush or lose the opportunity. I did exactly that, and I got it!

One bonus of small paintings like this is the power of a well-placed brushstroke. Each stroke of the brush and each "piece" of paint carries a great deal of impact and strength in a small painting.

Hope you like this one as much as I do. If you would like to own this piece at "pre-gallery" prices email me for details: tombrownstudio@cox.net (Later this year I will again be represented by brick-and-mortar galleries, which will necessitate a rise in prices. Until then I can still release these little treasures at pre-gallery prices.)

Thanks for looking. Have a perfect day!

AFFORDABLE "LITTLE TREASURE" OIL PAINTING BY TOM BROWN

“ROOFTOP LANDING”
8x5 inch original oil painting by Tom Brown

To purchase this painting, email me at: tombrownstudio@cox.net

About The Painting:
The birds on the barn roof gave this painting its title. This miniature oil painting is another in my new series called “LITTLE TREASURES.” Each one is a small, highly affordable original oil painting celebrating the beauty of our world.

I live in Southern California and create many of these paintings on location using a compact metal paintbox that is completely self-contained. I simply open the box and paint, then close the lid and I’m packed to go. My wet palette and fresh painting are safely contained inside. Full details are in my electronic handout called “USEFUL TIPS FOR PLEIN AIR PAINTING” (available for $10). Email me if you’re interested.

About Me:
I’m a lifelong artist and host of a TV Art Instruction show. I also conduct painting workshops where I teach oil painting in the Impressionist style. My paintings have sold through top galleries for over 20 years and my work is in private and corporate collections like Sears, Standard Oil, and Coca Cola.

VINTAGE TEXACO STATION DAILY PAINTING, LANDSCAPE BY TOM BROWN

“ALWAYS OPEN”
6x6 inch original oil painting

SOLD

I discovered this abandoned service station on a country back road years ago and stopped to do sketches and color notes so that I could paint it some day. This studio painting is the result, hope you like it.

The title for the painting is a play on words that comes from the fact that the abandoned building had no door and a faded yellowed sign in a window said, “ALWAYS OPEN.” Email me at tombrownstudio@cox.net if you’re interested in this painting.
